Summer Holidays '04
July 24 - August 8, 2004
Page # 2
WAKE UP! Here's the second half of our 2004 summer holidays.
This section (don't worry, this is the last one) takes us from Bobcaygeon to Buckhorn & Burleigh Falls & then back homeward to our final destination at Orillia & the big party at the Legion.
Enjoy!

.....
.....
Waiting on the blue line to lock through at Bobcaygeon.
We went through a total of 22 locks (to & fro) and this is the only one
I clunked into :-(
In my lame defense, you can see how far the wall juts out here . . .
Oh well, no damage. I hope my luck is as good next time :-)

.....
This is one of my favorite pictures from 2004, taken just as we got
on to Pigeon Lake.
Nice day, eh? Eh?

.....

Once through Pigeon Lake, we entered Upper Buckhorn Lake.

..........
Another great spot at Buckhorn, Sunrise Resort.
A nice, quiet spot right at the bottom of Buckhorn Lock.
Good spots to eat & the Beer/Liquor Store is right across the street!

.....
The essence of relaxation . . .

.....
A sunset over Sunrise (resort).

.....
A trip on Lower Buckhorn Lake.
The features are like Georgian Bay, with all the rocks & junk.

.....
Waiting to lock through at Lovesick.

.....
Burleigh Falls was our farthest (furthest ?) venture.

.....
Heading back through Lower Buckhorn Lake.
Very pretty scenery.

.....
A shot of the place where we stayed.

..........
A cloudy sunrise greeted us on our departure day.

.....
Heading back to Simcoe, through Bobcaygeon.
Anchor Girl was on a mission, as she wanted  to head
all the way back to Simcoe from Buckhorn.

.....
Almost back to Lake Simcoe
This is located in between the first two locks at Camebridge.
You can see what this spot looks like in
the 2 pictures that follow this one.

.....
Me & The Boss drove (by car) up this way in November
to find the lock & canal drained.

.....
This is taken from a little more zoomed in, from the same spot.

.....
After 7 hours, 45 minutes, 11 locks & 1 (only) poop stop,
we were back onto Lake Simcoe.
It was cloudy when we left Buckhorn, but sunny & hot by
the time we got here & I was happy to kill the engine & jump in
for a refreshing swim.

.....
We headed up to Lagoon City for the evening - and the first comfortable shower in days.
And a beautiful evening it was.

.....
Port of Orillia was our last stop for our holiday trip.
We timed this to be able to see the tribute artists at the Legion.

.....
And look - right on queue, it's a wannabe Elvis!

.....
Turn around, Harbour Master - you're missing E L V I S!

....
Oh no, I wasn't primed for this event :-)

.....
Al, I thought you said you don't like coming to Orillia?!?!?!?
Looks like you guys are all having a pretty good time!
Hey, Bert - why don't you leave us something on the
Guestbook about this night????

....
It's my buddy, Garth.
Ya, me & Garth go back a long way. All the way back to the previous night, when we table danced together.
Oh, sorry, bad memories for Brian & his wife :-)

.....
I tell ya, Orillia seems to bring out the wild side in everyone :-)

....
Dominic - and Maryann - joined us all for some good times.

.....
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! IT'S ELVIS!!!!!!
I tell ya, only in Orillia!

....
Everyone's up dancing . . .

.....
Awe, isn't that sweet . . .

....
Hey Al & Pat, careful not to bump into that couple beside you.
I think they dug them up just for this evening . . .

.....
Graham flashes his trademark smile.
I told him not to hassle Elvis for his autograph. . .

....
The King.

.....
Parker just couldn't bear to see Sharon leave . . .

....
Heading home . . . holidays all done for another year :-(
No problem, as I'm going to make up for it by taking even more time off this summer :-))
