another bunch
of 'oddball' photos from this past season. Photo Submitted By Sylvia (Mystral Legend) (Long Winded) Explanation By Peter :-) The day of the sinking, Ray asked if I would like to join him on a mini cruise. Being of a seafaring nature, I gladly obliged. Getting into a small craft from the walkway behind my boat was no easy task, with Ray sitting at one end & myself trying to board the very unstable craft. After much laughter it was decided that we would float to the ramp and change ends to better balance the craft. It was in this part of the epic trip that it all went to rat s**t . As soon as I let go of the dock, the craft proceeded to turn turtle and just like a bucking (did I say bucking ) bronco, deposited us unceremoniously in the river. Just at that instant, Frank was docking his boat & surprise, surprise - he just happened to have a new camera bought the same day. So, without even securing his vessel, he leapt to the dock & captured on film my darkest hour. May I just say at this point nobody came to our rescue - they were all too busy laughing. Needless to say, it was off to the showers and a change into dry clothes. So, technically I didn't fall into the water - we were capsized - so no case of beer for you my friend. . . (Photo Taken - August 10/03) Got it! And you thought that I was long winded! Now, if anyone would like to come forward with how Mystral Legend got it's quaint name . . . I strongly suspect that Peter, at some pint, did tell me about it (something to do with sheep, if I recall), but it was probably very late & sleepy out that night :-)  Here is a picture of the breakwall, showing the water level on May 24/03. The next picture shows the drop over the summer season . . .  (May 13/02) This one was taken on Sept. 20/03.
